IAF is proud to welcome Barbara Krimgold to our Board of Directors. Ms. Krimgold currently serves as director of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's postdoctoral Kellogg Health Scholars Program and of the Multidisciplinary-Disparities track for that program at the Center for Advancing Health (CFAH), a Washington, DC-based non-profit organization dedicated to translating health research to policy and practice.
On July 10, 2011, the World Future Society honored founder and chairman Clem Bezold with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the Society’s annual meeting in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
In July 2011, the Journal of Homeland Security and Emergency Management published the initial findings from a study by IAF Senior Associate Ben Sheppard on managing avoidance and adaptive behavoirs following terrorist events. On March 16, 2011, IAF released detailed diabetes prevalence and cost forecasts for each of the 50 states and selected metropolitan areas, including demographic breakdowns. On January 13, 2011, IAF Senior Associate Ben Sheppard ran a workshop to assist the Puebla municipal government in Mexico identify how they can increase the attractiveness of the region to foreign direct investment. In conjunction with Alexandria, VA-based Idea Sciences, Sheppard employed risk analysis tools and ran an exercise to help the municipal leaders map the dynamics affecting the public “narrative” about the attractiveness of the region. This initiative built upon Sheppard’s work in Ecuador, where he was invited to teach a three-day course in Political Risk Analysis at the Catholic University in Guayaquil. The course was based on the graduate degree program he teaches at the Elliott School for International Relations at The George Washington University. The class was comprised mainly of older students with diverse employment backgrounds. Course topics included expropriation, governance, and the use of future tools in political risk analysis.

IAF President and Senior Futurist Jonathan Peck facilitated the annual meeting of Partners Investing in Nursing's Future, "Unlocking the Door to the Future: Embracing a Shared Vision for Nursing." The event was held December 1-3, 2010 in Washington, D.C. and included approximately 200 participants.
The Kresge Foundation has awarded a grant to IAF to study the current and future role of community health centers in improving the health of their patients and of their communities through their work beyond the clinic.

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and Clem Bezold have partnered to create a set of hurricane scenarios for the county of Galveston, TX, and to develop a tool-kit that communities can use to develop local hurricane scenarios and develop action agendas.
